The North Haven Library is an independent, not for profit institution on North Haven Island, Maine.
Incorporated in 1898 we are one of the oldest organizations on the Island.
As a private lending Library, we depend on the support of the local community and as such we serve the Island community in a variety of ways. We have a collection of about 20,000 books, we host writers’ workshops, young readers groups, and a summer readers series where authors discuss their latest work.
The Library adheres to the principles of the American Library Association. We support diversity, education, and lifelong learning. We provide equal access to information and Library services that promote intellectual freedom and literacy.
This year we launched a capital campaign to restore and renovate our building.
Please visit the Restore and Renovate page to read about our exciting plans.
